Drone attack starts a fire at the refinery, ending a three-day pause in Ukrainian refinery strikes
Governor Pavel Malkov said a large drone attack on the region started a fire at the refinery and that damage was being assessed, per Reuters, in the first Ukrainian strike on a Russian energy site since President Trump announced an energy ceasefire on October 11. President Zelenskiy told the Financial Times the three-day pause was over because Russia kept striking Ukraine's grid and fuel depots.
Processing halted after a drone attack damages both operating primary units
Two industry sources told Reuters the refinery had halted processing since September 6 after a drone attack damaged its AT-6 and AVT-4 units, with AVT-3 idle since a mid-May attack. It was the third shutdown of the year.
